Herefordshire Council is developing a Big County Plan and City Masterplan, covering the period to 2050, to set out Herefordshire’s future economic direction.
Businesses are being invited to attend a business summit as the council sets out its role in providing leadership, long-term strategy and supporting infrastructure to facilitate the transformation required of the county’s economy.
Councillor David Hitchiner, Leader of Herefordshire Council, will join Paul Walker, the new Chief Executive of Herefordshire Council, along with Jesse Norman MP and other speakers at the event on Friday September 10 between 8am and 10am.
The summit is the first in a series of events across the county which the council is organising to bring people and organisations together to discuss the big projects, changes and partnerships required to transform Herefordshire’s economy.
The agenda will cover:
· Herefordshire’s Big County Plan and future vision – how we can think big to drive change and meet opportunities.
· Building new relationships with businesses to deliver growth and opportunity;
· The role of government and its supporting policies.
· Panel Q&A discussion
The summit will be hosted at the brand new Shell Store business incubation centre on Skylon Park, Hereford Enterprise Zone.
As well as the chance to network with colleagues and partners, participants will have the opportunity to explore the Shell Store and visit the new Cyber Quarter, also located on the Enterprise Zone.
These projects, one a refurbishment of a World War 1 building into a facility to nurture new and growing businesses, the other a new build cyber research and development centre are examples of the partnerships required to encourage private sector investment and growth.
