Businesses in Herefordshire are being invited to the first of a series of seminars bringing companies with shared specialisms and interests together in a bid to boost collaboration and growth.
Hereford Enterprise Zone is hosting the events, working with defence giant QinetiQ, and the first event this month will focus on innovation in the defence and security sector.
The seminar at Skylon Park on September 29 will include presentations from representatives of the Defence Solutions Centre and QinetiQ, covering topics on innovation and challenges in cyber skills, satellite navigation and communications, and a look to the future.
There will be up to two hours allowed for networking and Mark Pearce, Managing Director of the Enterprise Zone, hopes that the series of events will prove to be both popular and profitable for businesses attending:
“Hereford and the surrounding area has a rich heritage in defence and security and by bringing together organisations of all sizes operating in the sector, we hope to support those businesses to realise their growth aspirations.
“This first event is focused on defence and security, however the topics under discussion in forthcoming seminars will be decided on feedback from the business community. This is about supporting our businesses to achieve their aspirations and their growth potential by working together and sharing best practice and knowledge.”
The inaugural event takes place in the TRP Board Room on Netherwood Road, between 1700 and 2030 on Tuesday September 29. Any businesses interested in attending should visit: http://www.eventbrite.co.uk/e/innovation-in-defence-security-tickets-18258036278?aff=eac2
