Herefordshire businesses are being invited to attend a special event next week to find out how they could tender for work as part of a £2m industrial development in Hereford.
Herefordshire Council and HCT Construction Consultants Limited are holding a ‘Meet the Buyer’ session to outline tender opportunities for local construction businesses and related trades in the building of Skylon Court, part of the Hereford Enterprise Zone, on 3 December.
It will be held at the TRP Technical Centre, Netherwood Road, Rotherwas, Hereford, from 11am to 2pm.
Skylon Court is a cornerstone of the Skylon Park development in Rotherwas. More than £655,000 of European funding was granted to create the development, which is designed to offer flexible accommodation for growing companies, including offices and studio workspace.
It will sit on the corner of the Straight Mile and Coldnose Road and there will be 10 new business units, available individually or in groups. Two of the three buildings offer double height space to accommodate a mezzanine floor. All the ground floor units will have wide double height access doors.
Chairman of the Hereford Enterprise Zone Bill Jackson said: “This is a prime opportunity for local businesses that serve the construction industry to get directly involved, and benefit from, a multi million pound development in their community.
“The Meet the Buyer event will give companies the chance to find out what tender opportunities are available to them and how they can bid for the work.
“The Skylon Court development will eventually provide a home for local busineses to grow their businesses but we are very keen to be able to support other local compaies during the construction of this important development.”
