Helping cyclists and walkers on the winter commute

Free winter goodies are on offer this week to encourage employees to stay active on their commute to work.

Once the colder, darker days are here it’s easy to retreat inside your cars for the journey to work – but the winter commuting staff event this Thursday (November 17) will show you how you can stay warm and visible as you walk or cycle to work.

Between 2pm and 4pm, the Skylon Park travel plan co-ordinator will be on Holme Lacy Road, at the entrance to the Thorn Estate, to hand out free winter walking and cycling goody bags. There will also be advice on routes, bike buying options and all things running, walking and cycling to work to help you stay active safely.

Skylon Park businesses are also invited to the travel plan network meeting on Tuesday November 29, from 10-11am. It will be held online and is open for all relevant businesses to attend, whether you already have a travel plan or not.

The meeting will be a chance for businesses to share their staff travel experiences, problems and successes and find out about the support and resources available to you and your employees and hear from key stakeholders including Herefordshire Council.
